The Humboldt Broncos, Melville Millionaires and the AJHL’s Drumheller Dragons have completed a three-way trade that sees multiple players interchanging teams on trade deadline day.
In the deal, the Broncos will acquire 2004-born defenseman Liam Rodman from the Melville Millionaires, while sending 2004-born defenseman Tristan Serrao to the AJHL’s Drumheller Dragons
Rodman has over 130 games of Jr. A experience having played in the BCHL and AJHL, while accumulating 9 points (5g-4a) in 26 games with the Millionaires this season. The right-shot, Saskatoon native was drafted 16th overall by the Notre Dame Hounds in the 2019 SJHL U15 draft, and 242 overall by the WHL’s Prince Albert Raiders.
“It’s a tough situation to have to deal Tristan. He’s been a leader in our dressing room and a guy who’s put his body on the line every time he steps on the ice. On the positive side, Liam is a 20-year-old defenseman with a ton of experience, those players are tough to find at the deadline, so we’re excited to get a really solid player in return. He can play a physical game as well as chip in offensively,” said Head Coach and GM, Brayden Klimosko.
Tristan Serrao spent all but five games of his junior career with the Broncos. He started his tenure in 2022-23 season and would go on to play 82 games, picking up 17 points (4g-13a) and 314 penalty minutes. Serrao, from Calgary, AB, will get to finish his final season of Junior hockey closer to home.
The Melville Millionaires will acquire two players from Drumheller to round out the trade.
The Humboldt Broncos and the City of Humboldt would like to welcome Liam and his family to the organization and community, as well as sincerely thank Tristan for his commitment in being a strong player and ambassador.
